Flood Damage Due To Snow Melt

So your sitting home, snowed in of course and thinking about all the things you can do and catch up on in the house. Is one of those things considering a flood policy?

Unfortunately, there are many homeowners who are not required to carry flood insurance by their mortgage company. This is usually because they are not in a flood zone so it’s not mandated by the bank. However there are always reasons to carry Flood Insurance!

Snow melt can do damage just as much as rain. A typical policy can be had with full coverage for approximately $400 a year. You cannot write a policy during a storm, it’s too late. When a policy is issued there is a 30 day waiting period as well, unless it’s a purchase, then the waiting period is waived.

If you would like more information about flood insurance and you live in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Maryland, North Carolina, Texas or Florida we can help you as we are licensed in all 9 states.
